Jim Ross: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Atlanta, Georgia's Philips Arena for NWA: Show Time's iPPV extravaganza, 'World War III.' I'm your host for the night, Jim Ross. Alongside me at the commentary booth are the distinguished William Regal and the lovely Renee Young. Folks, we are in for a tail-whooping good time tonight!"
William Regal: "Indeed, Jim. This promises to be a super event!"
Renee Young: "I can't wait to get it started!"
Ross: "Fans, we have a two-ring 'War Games' match scheduled for the main event and we will determine the next challengers for the NWA World Tag Team Championship here tonight. Speaking of that, the first semi-final of the that tournament will kick off the night. Let's get to the ring and our hostess 'So Cal' Valerie Wyndham."
Valerie Wyndham: "Thank you, Jim. Is everyone ready to get 'World War II' started?! (crowd roars in approval) All right! Without further adieu, I'll throw it over to our ring announcer Scarlett Bordeaux for the introductions."
Match One ~ "Killer Elite Squad"--Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt vs. "Sons of Steel"--Boomer Payne & Brice Anthony
The first match on the card, which was also the first semi-final in the tournament to determine a new NWA World Tag Team Championship challenger at Clash of the Champions "Halloween Havoc" was a barn-burning opener. The crowd was super hot for this one. "KES" controlled throughout, but "SoS" responded and had the upper hand at the end. They hit "Steel Curtain" on Smith, but the referee got poked in the eye in the midst of it and was delayed in his count, which allowed Hoyt time to interfere and dump Payne to the outside. "KES" then nailed the "Killer Bomb" on Anthony for the victory.
Winners = "Killer Elite Squad" by pinfall in 14:06
Ross: "What a great match to start us off. Two heavy-hitting teams going at it hard for almost fifteen minutes. It was not without controversy, though."

Young: "If every match is that good tonight, we're in for a treat!"
Match Two ~ "The Kingdom"--Michael Bennett & Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis vs. "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team"--Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas
The NWA" Show Time Tag Team Champions entered the match confidently. "WGTT" came in ready to fight, as this one is part of the promotion's big "blood feud." This was a classic in tag team continuity. "The Kingdom" has come into its own. Bennett & Taven improve as a team every outing. Haas and Benjamin have been teaming for years. Their fluidity is evident every match. It looked as though "The Kingdom" had it won, but some untimely interference by Maria cost her charges. Bennett and Benjamin were fighting outside, which distracted the referee. Taven, meanwhile, held Haas for Maria to strike him with her boot. Haas ducked and Maria accidentally plunked Taven. Haas executed a "Backslide" on the dazed Taven as the referee turned around for the count.
Winners = "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team" by pinfall in 13:45

Young: "You reap what you sow."
Match Three ~ 2-out-of-3 falls "Submission" match ~ Tetsuya Naito vs. Katsuyori Shibata
This resembled an MMA battle more so than a wrestling match. Naito and Shibata pulled out all the stops with submission after submission. Shibata caught Naito in the "Triangle Armbar" to gain the first submission in 8:12. Naito came roaring back, hitting the "Satrdust Press" and going straight into the "Pluma Blanca" for the tapout in 7:10. Shibata hit the "Musha Gaeshi" and rolled it into a "Chickenwing Facelock." Naito attempted to fight it off, but eventually succumbed at the 5:11 mark. He did not submit, but the referee stopped the match due to his becoming unresponsive.
Winner = Katsuyori Shibata two falls to one in a total match time of 20:33

Young: "This may have been Shibata's breakout performance."

Knowing that this truly This was easily the match of the night from a workrate standpoint. The Shirais are phenomenal athletes, as are Fujomoto and Shida. All four were absolutely on fire in this match. It clicked on every level and hit on all cylinders. There so many dives to the floor from between the ropes, over the ropes, from the top rope to the floor, it was difficult to keep up with the action. Shida took a lot of punishment, but her will to win drove her on. She finally made a tag to Fujimoto, who cleaned house. The end came shortly thereafter. Shida and Mio were fighting in one corner, while Io and Fujimoto fought in the other. Shida dispatched of Mio and turned around to see Fujimoto whipping Io into her direction. What appeared to be malicious was not. Fujimoto simply shoved Io off of her. Shida walked right into the path and collided with Io. Fujimoto then hit "Infinity" for the pin.

Ibushi came back to knot it at one fall apiece in 10:00 exactly. La Sombra had the match and the championship won. He set up Ibushi for the "Split-legged Corkscrew Senton." As he stood on the top rope, Volador, Jr. Came springing out to the ring and began wailing on Ibushi. Young: "I can guarantee that La Sombra will be looking for retribution after this."
Match Six ~ "Killer Elite Squad"--Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt vs. "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team"--Shelton Banjamin and Charlie Haas
The NWA World Tag Team Championship opportunity tournament final was everything it should have been. It was the sweet science of "WGTT" versus the smashmouth style of "KES" in a race to the finish line. Ultimately, smashmouth ruled the day. A "Killer Bomb" on Haas sealed the deal, and "Killer Elite Squad" will take on AJ Styles & Alberto El Patron next month for the richest tag team prize on earth.

Match Seven ~ NWA World Women's Championship ~ Manami Toyota vs. Kana of "Joshi Mafia"
This was a "Fall Brawl" rematch. It was a stiff encounter that would make Rhonda Rousey proud. Toyota and Kana wore each other out with kicks, chops, and more kicks. Toyota hit many of her signature maneuvers, but this match was a grinding, mat based war. Kana worked over Toyota's extremities, looking for a weakness to exploit. Toyota kept Kana off balance with several offenses flurries. Kana locked in the "Kana Lock" and had Toyota dead to rights. However, Manami summoned every bit of strength in her body to roll herself into the ropes for a break. This frustrated Kana and she pounded her fist into the mat. Toyota hit a "DDT" and set up for the "Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex," when she was jumped from behind by Awesome Kong. The referee called for the bell.
Winner and still NWA World Women's Champion = Manami Toyota by disqualification in 23:14

Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Cole began the action and tore into each other. Both were bloody by the time the coin toss rolled around. "Team Richards" won the toss and sent in Brock Lesnar to lay waste to Castagnoli. Lesnar and Cole battered Claudio for two minutes until Dean Ambrose evened the odds. Lesnar still reigned supreme, but the addition of Ambrose turned the tables slightly. Matt Taven entered next for the 3-on-2 advantage. Kevin Steen evend the odds once again and targeted Lesnar. Regal: "This feud is far from over. That match has only added fuel to the fire."
Young: "What a bloody affair. It was like a car crash in there. I hope Dean is okay."
